I have been and I have not been, but that was not a question. Finding time is something all artist are hunting for, and when we find it, at first it feels strange. Almost like guilt. For being selfish no doubt. But one must take care of one's needs, or one will surely perish softly.
I have started on a series of park paintings. Parks in Mid Missouri. I have started on Meramac Spring in St. James. I will try to do a few of fishermen and a few of the trees. I then plan on moving into Jefferson city parks.
As always the colors will be soft and contrasting. The colors will speak volumes of light. The sun and the grass, the water and the trees. I have no idea how many I will paint, but I do know it will take a long time to complete. I am also going to try and use plaster of paris on masonite board. I know it will add weight, but the plaster seems meant for summer and spring paintings. It winter, it only really works in snow or sky.
I have had no time recently, but I hope that will change in the coming months. I hope the summer will give many things of joy. Some must be created, others must be viewed only. Eyes open wide and battling the haze. I see color, therefore, I know I am alive.
