Ozark Rivers Audubon Chapter-Rolla presents:

Observing and Drawing Birds for Field Notes with Nationally Acclaimed Illustrator David Plank

Rolla, Missouri, November 1, 2012 — The monthly meeting of the Ozark Rivers Audubon Chapter is pleased to have a presentation and instruction by David Plank, Watercolorist, on Thursday November 8th, 2012, 7:00 p.m. in Eugene Northern Hall, 400 West 4th Street, Rolla, MO.

Nationally acclaimed avian artist David Plank will give a presentation and instruction on the art of sketching a bird. He will walk us through the identification process, the important points to look for and then sketch what you see. There will be pads and pencils for everyone to sketch their own bird under Davis's direction. This is not a contest to see who draws the best bird but a workshop on learning to draw what you see to aid in identifying a particular bird for your field notes.

David is a life-long friend of Audubon, his studio is in Salem, MO and he  has been painting birds his whole life. His avian paintings have adorned the cover page of many national publication avian magazines over the decades . Our beautiful chapter Belted Kingfisher logo was painted and donated by David some years ago.

Please stay for snacks and conversation.
