Here is a symbolist work entitled "If I defend thee, then battle shall be my breast, and war shall be thy womb". The materials used are ceramic stucco, white flake, and acrylic. It is a statement about war is peace or perpetual war. As we complain about a society that is too violent; we appear to be somewhat blind as to where such a lesson could've been taught.
It is 40" x 30" on canvas. I prefer to call it symbolism rather than expressionism. It is up to the viewer.
