The Village Art Studio is now open in Jefferson City

Three retired art teachers have opened The Village Art Studio at the historic Warwick Village. Our first month is almost over and we have been surprised at the interest that has been shown. We feel grateful to be among several other art education venues around our town. There is room for us all.

Our new calendar will be out at the end of this week for the month of February. If it is all right with you, I will send Jerry a copy so that he can pass it on to you. We have art opportunities
for all ages and hopefully, you will find something that piques your interest. Some of our classes are ongoing and some are a "one stop experience". We are trying to find out what folks
want, as all art centers do.

Right now they offer two classes you might be interested in.

On Monday, Feb. 3, Hand Building with Clay, 12:00-2:00. I have several projects that teach the three basic techniques in sophisticated adult projects. After they are known then we can proceed to

more challenging projects such as the Green Man, clocks, lamps, houses, bottles, and on and on. $20.00 per class, included all firing. Students purchase a 25 lb. pug of clay for themselves or to share, $25.00.

You may purchase glazes from me when you need them. If you choose to paint, my acrylics are free to my students.

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, I will begin a new painting in Pastel Class, 12:30-3:00, $25.00 per class, supply list. Paper can be bought from me.

We will work together on a landscape to experience techniques for elements of nature. Sky, depth, water, foliage, atmospheric perspective will be taught.

Call me for more information and to register for a class. I hope that you come and join us for some happy times as we create, relax and enjoy the bliss of creating and learning something NEW!!
